David studied composition, arranging and conducting at Trinity College of Music, London. He won the major composition prize in his first year at the college. After successfully completing his studies, he worked as a freelance musician in London, combining teaching and conducting commitments with specialist work for Transatlantic Records, transcribing many original Jazz and Blues pieces from early archive recordings.
His career covers a wide area of music, ranging from education – teaching and writing – through to working in the commercial sector. He has been involved in a number of large recording projects including some at the world-famous Abbey Road studios and has even worked for the Pope originating and editing one of the Catholic Hymn books! He has many vocal and instrumental pieces to his name and continues to be widely published.
His wife Miriam is a piano teacher and together they teach in many local schools as well as private home tuition under the banner of Mastercraft Music. They live in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
